You'll have a lot of fun, while soaking up knowledge of childhood development and exploring how vital your role is to shaping their early years. Throughout your apprenticeship you'll get to explore different age groups, from 3 months to 5 years, to get the best on the job learning and figure out where your true passion lies. You'll become a certified Early Years Educator opening up your career to infinite possibilities. This is where your journey begins!
Our passionate Educators are the heart and soul of our nurseries. Whether you're level 2 or level 3 qualified, you'll be working alongside your colleagues to deliver outstanding experiences for our children. You'll be creating inspiring environments and learning opportunities for children to grow through play-based activities, developing their language, motor skills, emotional growth and wellbeing. You'll be a key person, you'll think outside the box, you'll create exceptional parent partnerships and be an all round awesome Educator.
As the Deputy Room Leader you'll team up with the Room Leader to be responsible for learning outcomes and transforming them into inspiring classroom experiences for your children. You'll role model setting goals and tracking progress for your key children and you'll showcase parent partnerships for everyone to aspire to. When the Room Leader isn't there you'll lead from the front to ensure your room is outstanding. To be a great Deputy Room Leader you'll be creative, inspiring and personable, communicating well with your colleagues, children and parents.
Being a Room Leader is an engaging and impactful role where you'll have overall responsibility for your classroom, children and team. You'll ensure your team provides age-appropriate educational activities aligned with our curriculum. You'll have your own key children and you'll support the rest of your team with their key children to set goals for each child and provide updates to parents. This is a hands-on role where you can make a huge difference to the children's early years development while inspiring your team to be the best they can be. To be a great Room Leader you'll need creativity, confidence and an exceptional grasp of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) standards for child learning and development.
The Third in Charge role is a great step into nursery leadership. You'll take responsibility for the whole nursery in the absence of the Manager and Deputy Manager. You'll be the go-to for any safeguarding concerns or general queries from your colleagues or parents, and you'll be present across all rooms making sure that standards are maintained and everyone is happy! The Third in Charge role goes hand in hand with still being a Room Leader, it offers a brilliant opportunity to develop your leadership skills and you'll need to be a real team player that can make quick decisions when needed.
Being a Kido Deputy Manager first and foremost is about ensuring that the operations of the nursery run smoothly. This can include deputising for the Manager when they are off site and day to day includes supporting across the rooms, stepping in where help is needed, and supporting with team development, 121s and parent enquiries and tours. You'll lead from the front and spend much of your time role modelling outstanding practice to inspire and support your team. Being a Deputy Manager takes great leadership, a dedication to aim for outstanding in all that you and your team do, and putting our children's education and safety first.
Our Nursery Managers ensure that our Kido values and curriculum are lived and breathed throughout the nursery. You'll create an inspiring, safe, happy and educational environment for all our children. You'll lead and encourage your team to uphold the highest standards with pride, while taking a hands-on management approach across the nursery. Every one of our nurseries is unique, and every manager has the freedom to shape their nursery and showcase their passions. In Golders Green for example, our wonderful Nursery Manager Gail opens the door to a realm of magical and captivating stories which really showcases her dedication to literacy in early years. In Wandsworth our Manager Shaddiya provides as many hands-on learning experiences as possible through Explorer Days, unlocking a world of endless possibilities for the children.
To ensure our nurseries run smoothly each nursery has a Housekeeper and a Nursery Chef on site. These roles are both crucial to making our nurseries warm and welcoming homes from home. You'll also get to spend time with the children helping them to set up environments or supporting them to learn about how food fuels their bodies.
We believe passionately about promoting from within and celebrating our people. Joining a Kido nursery will open up future opportunities for progression into our Hub Team. As a growing nursery group new opportunities are arising, working in marketing, finance, training, recruitment, HR, or operations. Join us and who knows, you might pioneer a role we never even imagined!
