Kido Rice Village Infant Center is our first dedicated infant center in the US. We are located in the heart of Rice Village, within ten minutes of Rice University, West U, the Medical Center, Upper Kirby, and River Oaks.
The 2000 sq. ft building is purpose-built for children under eighteen months, where we provide daily sensory activities to help aid in physical and cognitive development. The furniture and resources have been handpicked so that the entire center is conducive to age-appropriate learning. The Infant Center includes dedicated indoor and outdoor play areas where the infants can explore, build strength, and express themselves. As with all our Houston Kido schools, the Infant Center is a Spanish immersion program that exposes our youngest students to the Spanish language so that they will be prepared when they enter the Kido Rice Village Main Campus.
At Kido Rice Village Infant Care Center, we offer our unique and highly regarded Spanish immersion program, which combines the best of dual language proficiency, while achieving our aspirational goals for emotional, social, and academic growth in preschoolers.
At Kido, our early childhood philosophy is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, which views children as capable, curious learners. Our Reggio-inspired classrooms reflect this belief through a calming, neutral color palette, a clean aesthetic, and natural elements woven throughout our furniture and decor.
What qualifications do Kido teachers have?
Our early childhood educators bring a range of qualifications to the classroom, from Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials to bachelor's and graduate degrees in Early Childhood Education and related fields. Every Kido teacher meets state preschool teacher qualifications and each one is dedicated to supporting your child's whole development, from emotional wellbeing to academic readiness.
What makes a good preschool teacher?
We believe a good preschool teacher is defined by genuine passion, formal qualifications, ongoing training and the ability to nurture each child's unique development. Every Kido educator is chosen for these qualities, and our robust internal training program gives our team members the support they need to keep growing, both in their education and their careers.
Does Kido have a parent app?
Yes! Kido provides a daycare parent communication app (available on iOS & Android) that keeps you connected to your child's day. Through the app, you'll receive real-time photos, milestones, and direct messages from your child's teacher. And of course, our team always makes time to connect with you in person at drop-off and pickup.
What kind of daily updates will I receive?
Throughout the day, you'll receive regular updates including photos of activities, meal and nap times, learning moments, and any notes from your child's teacher, so you never miss a moment of your child's development.

What is Kido's curriculum?
Our pre-k curriculum, the Kido Early Years Program, is an internationally-designed early childhood curriculum that integrates Montessori preschool curriculum principles, Reggio Emilia, and Multiple Intelligences theory. At Kido, your child develops academically, emotionally, and socially through a play based preschool curriculum tailored to their age.
Does Kido follow Montessori?
Kido incorporates elements of Montessori philosophy alongside Reggio Emilia practices and Multiple Intelligences theory. Rather than following a single approach, our team has blended the best of each into the Kido Early Years Program.
